Sparrows, Spring 2006.

I took this picture a few weeks ago. That pair of house sparrows was investigating the bird house on our back fence. They spent hours going in and out. They also sat in different parts of the cedars and on the roof, presumably checking for camouflage. Here, he watches from the the roof, while she sticks her head in for a good look.
I haven’t seen them since, so I don’t know if they chose to nest in our box.
I took the photo on a gloomy day with my new camera (but still with the automatic settings - haven’t had a chance to play around with the other stuff) and a telephoto lens, no tripod, through a window, then cropped the hell out of it. All things considered, it isn’t nearly as bad as I had expected. :P
